Former 'SNL' star Chris Kattan arrested for DUI after construction zone crash - Kansas City Star

Monday, February 10, 2014

This is so not funny. Former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Chris Kattan was arrested early Monday after he reportedly crashed a Mercedes-Benz into a maintenance truck in a construction zone on a California highway.

Local media report that Kattan, 43, was taken into custody just before 2 a.m. The accident happened around 1 a.m. on the 101 freeway in Encino.

Officers responded after a woman called 911 to report a Mercedes-Benz weaving and driving slowly on the highway.

The “Night at the Roxbury” star drove through construction zone cones and hit a parked Department of Transportation vehicle from behind, according to the California Highway Patrol.

No one was in the parked vehicle and Kattan was not injured.

Videotape posted by TMZ shows that Kattan appeared shocked and unsteady on his feet – nearly falling over – as officers gave him a field sobriety test.

TMZ reports that Kattan admitted using prescription drugs. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Van Nuys jail.

He was released shortly after 7:30 a.m. after posting $15,000 bail.
