Apple has released a new version of Compressor, the video exporting utility for Final Cut Pro X customers. The update fixes a known bug involving Vimeo uploads and is available as a free download to all existing users.
Apple sells Compressor to Final Cut Pro X customers for exporting purposes. The app allows professional video editors to customize output settings, work faster with distributed encoding, and convert any file from its source format to another format.
The latest version is 4.0.6. Released only hours ago in the Mac App Store, its apparent sole purpose is to fix an issue with the upload of clips larger than 1 GB to Vimeo.
The changelog also states that Compressor 4.0.6 “improves overall stability, performance and compatibility.”
Compressor requires 2GB of RAM, an OpenCL-capable graphics card or Intel HD Graphics 3000 or later, 256MB of VRAM, a display with 1280-by-768 resolution or higher, 758MB of disk space, and OS X v10.6.8 / OS X v10.7.5 / OS X v10.8.2 or later.
