BERKELEY -
Health officials in the Bay Area are warning BART riders they may have been exposed to the measles.
A person infected with the disease took BART between the El Cerrito del Norte and Downtown Berkeley stops. The person rode those trains between Tuesday, February 4 and Friday, February 7.
Measles is a contagious disease transmitted through the air. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the measles vaccine is effective, however those who have not been vaccinated are at risk of catching it.
Symptoms of the measles include a blotchy rash, fever, runny nose, red and watery eyes, and a cough.
