Yellen Will Testify Feb. 27 Before Senate Committee - NASDAQ

Thursday, February 20, 2014

WASHINGTON--Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen will appear Feb. 27 before the Senate Banking Committee to speak about monetary policy and the U.S. economy, the committee announced Thursday in a press release.

Ms. Yellen spoke Feb. 11 before the House Financial Services Committee to deliver her twice-a-year report to Congress, but her Feb. 13 appearance before the Senate panel was postponed due to a winter storm that shut down much of Washington.

Ms. Yellen's testimony, now scheduled for 10 a.m. EST on Feb. 27, will likely repeat her Feb. 11 statement. She also will take questions from members of the Senate committee.

It will be her second appearance before a congressional committee since taking office this month.
