A little girl named Katie recently learned that when you want something, it never hurts to ask for it — especially if it’s time off for a dad who works at Google.

The child sent her father’s employer a letter, written in aqua-colored crayon on wide-ruled paper, asking that he get some time off.

In a letter written in crayon, a young girl named Katie asked Google to give her dad some time off.

Starting with the salutation "Dear google worker," Katie wrote: "Can you please make sure when daddy goes to work, he gets one day off like he can get get a day off Wendsday. Because Daddy ONLY gets a day off on Saturday." She signed the missive "From, Katie."

Below that she put an emphatic postscript: "PS. It is daddy's BIRTHDAY!"

And just in case that wasn't enough, Katie added: “P.P.S. It is summer, you know.”

And you know, her request worked. Not only did her dad get Wednesday off; he got the entire week.

“Your father has been hard at work designing many beautiful and delightful things for Google and millions of people across the globe,” Google boss Daniel Shiplacoff wrote back in a letter, confirmed for TODAY by a company spokesperson.

“On the occasion of his Birthday, and recognizing the importance of taking some Wednesdays off during the summer, we are giving him the whole first week of July as vacation time. Enjoy!”
