More Offseason Analysis: Coaching changes, news | Free Agency | Draft
Free agency officially started at midnight on Tuesday, and that means there's piles of news about comings and goings. This post will periodically update with the latest:
Tuesday, July 1
Update: 1:59 a.m.
• The Cavaliers have reached an agreement on a five-year, $90 million contract extension with Kyrie Irving. Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert announced it on Twitter. The contract can't be signed until the league's moratorium is lifted on July 10.
• Toronto is considering adding a fifth year to its offer to Kyle Lowry, as a result of the number of teams pursuing him, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
• Miami reached out to Lowry's agent, and the two sides will speak in the morning, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
• Dallas doesn't have Isaiah Thomas high on its list of priorities, though the team did reach out to him tonight, according to ESPN's Tim McMahon.
Update: 1:30 a.m. ET
• The Clippers "continue to have an interest in LeBron and Melo," according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. And why wouldn't they? They also reportedly have called their own free agent point guard, Darren Collison.
• More Clippers: They reportedly think they have a "real chance" of luring Paul Pierce away from Brooklyn after the whole Jason Kidd debacle. The Blazers, Grizzlies, Bulls, Mavericks and Rockets have also reportedly called to register their interest Pierce.
• A Pacers source told the Indianapolis Star's Candace Buckner that Lance Stephenson is "our No. 1 priority and we'll know something by [Tuesday], hopefully." Also, um, they have quite a pitch for him.
• You can add the Celtics and Warriors to your list of teams that have reportedly expressed interest in Isaiah Thomas.
• Kyle Lowry has heard from the Heat, Lakers and Mavericks in addition to the Raptors and Rockets tonight, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.

• Luol Deng's former team, Chicago, reportedly has interest in him. So do the Los Angeles Lakers.
• Portland reportedly wants a stretch-four, and is targeting Josh McRoberts and Boris Diaw in addition to Spencer Hawes. Blazers GM Neil Olshey and head coach Terry Stotts reportedly met with Hawes in Los Angeles.
• The Lakers have reportedly reached out to Kent Bazemore! Their first priority is LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, though. Weird.
Update: 12:56 a.m. ET
• Carmelo Anthony will, as expected, meet with the Knicks on Tuesday, as reported by CBSSports.com's Ken Berger. He will then meet with the Mavericks and Rockets on Wednesday, and the Lakers on Thursday. The Knicks are still seen as the favorites.
• Kyle Lowry will actually meet with the Raptors during the day on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
• The Clippers, Mavs and Hawks "led the charge" in reaching out to Luol Deng's reps, according to CBSSports.com's Ken Berger. Heat president Pat Riley also placed a call, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
• Brooklyn immediately reached out to Paul Pierce, Shaun Livingston and Alan Anderson when free agency began, Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports.
• Phoenix plans to make an offer to restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe in the "next day or two," according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Same with the Jazz and Gordon Hayward.
• The Bulls and Mavs are interested in Chandler Parsons, according to Marc Stein of ESPN, who adds that Minnesota "continues to monitor" him. Dallas will "be aggressive in pursuit of Parsons" if it doesn't get Carmelo Anthony, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. The Lakers and Suns are also interested, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
• David Blatt is reportedly in the Cavs' meeting with Kyrie Irving in New Jersey. Kevin McHale will reportedly be in the Rockets' meeting with Kyle Lowry.

Update 11:49 p.m. ET
• The Pistons, Heat, Lakers, Mavs and Suns have all reportedly expressed interest in Isaiah Thomas, who is a restricted free agent.

Update: 11:10 p.m. ET:
• LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, will reportedly meet with teams in Cleveland this week, though James will not be present.
• OK, this is weird: Sportsnet's Michael Grange says there's some "clever scamming" going on, whereby someone with a 414 area code is spreading false information. It would seem that this person briefly fooled Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears, who had to apologize for tweeting that the Raptors would offer Kyle Lowry a deal starting at $14.5 million per season. The Toronto Star's Bruce Arthur reports that Lowry was asking for four years and $50 million, and ESPN's Marc Stein reports that he heard the offer would start at $12 million per season.
• Portland reportedly has "serious interest" in a sign-and-trade for Greg Monroe. Weird fit with LaMarcus Aldridge, but sure!
• You can add Phoenix and Atlanta to the list of teams interested in Pau Gasol. Golden State, too, though a sign-and-trade would be necessary, per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
• ESPN's Marc Stein reports that Oklahoma City will not be in the running for Gasol.
Update: 10 p.m. ET:
• LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh reportedly plan to give Heat president Pat Riley "a window to enact his plan" to improve their supporting cast, according to Yahoo Sports.
• The Rockets will reportedly use their "extensive collection of gadgetry" in their pitch for Carmelo Anthony, where they will try to convince him they'd be title contenders.
• Chandler Parsons, who many assumed would be out the door in the event Houston attracted another star, will reportedly be a part of the proposed plan to win with him.
• If the Rockets can't sign Anthony, they'll reportedly turn their attention to Bosh and Kyle Lowry.
• The Magic honored Jameer Nelson after waiving him. That's pretty cool of them.
• Chauncey Billups "will take the next couple weeks to contemplate his next move," according to ESPN's Marc Stein. He is a free agent, as the Pistons declined their team option.
• The Wizards will meet with Trevor Ariza on Tuesday, and are expected to re-sign Drew Gooden to a minimum contract, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.
• David Aldridge of NBA.com reports that the Raptors are "very hopeful" that they can re-sign Kyle Lowry, but a deal is not done. This is where we add that, legally, a deal cannot be done.
• Evan Turner will be an unrestricted free agent, as the Pacers reportedly won't extend him a qualifying offer.

• The Cleveland Cavaliers will reportedly meet Kyrie Irving in New Jersey to offer him a maximum contract extension the moment that he is eligible for one.

• The Pistons declined to pick up their option on Chauncey Billups, and he is considering retirement.
• Toure' Murry will be an unrestricted free agent, but the Knicks reportedly want him back.
• The Heat, Raptors, Thunder and Blazers all are reportedly interested in Vince Carter, but the Mavericks would like to keep him.
