PHILADELPHIA — Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for only 96 yards, running back LeSean McCoy totaled just 50 yards rushing, and Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman laughed the whole way through in his team's 24-14 win over the Eagles on Sunday.
"You go into the game with a game plan thinking you can execute, but I'll give them credit," Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said of the Seahawks. "They did a hell of a job on defense and played better than us today."
The loss dropped the Eagles to 9-4 and in a tie with the Dallas Cowboys (9-4) for the top spot in the NFC East. If the playoffs started today, the Eagles would be the division champions, but that could change if they don't take care of business next week when the Cowboys come to Philadelphia.
"I don't think anybody has to get revved up to play the Cowboys," Kelly said. "It's a division game. It's an opportunity to establish yourself in the NFC East and that's what this season is about right now."
