Five Bodies Identified and Taken Out of the Home in Phoenix - Daily Observer

Five bodies were removed from a Phoenix home on Friday where they say that a man shot and killed his mother, a couple of brothers and one of their wives before he fatally shot himself.

Police identified the shooter as 50 years old Driss Diaeddinn. Investigators say that he had been arguing with his brothers before the attack on Thursday.

“He had made some off-the-wall comments, at the time saying goodbye to people,” police Sgt. Trent Crump said. “They didn’t know what he was meaning at the time. But now in hindsight, they realize that he was just having some sort of a breakdown.”

The brothers including victims, the 56 years old Dodi Fayed and 38 years old Reda Diaeddinn, ran a company that offered cars on rent. They also owned a restaurant according to Crump.

A busines dispute had engulfed the family that ignited the attack. Crump said that Diaeddinn’s mother was killed when she descended downstairs. He went on moving upstairs where he killed his sister in law, Merium Ben Yahia. After he killed his family, he went to his bedroom and killed himself.

His wife managed to escape with their young children ages 3 and 10 months. She called the police. His sister had been hiding inside and came out later while a SWAT team surrounded the house. The survivors have not identified the survivors.

“It’s very obvious, whether it’s the heat, passion or the anger of what happened, he certainly went to great lengths to make sure each of them were dead,” Sgt. Trent Crump said.

“To have to go out the back of a home, taking two kids with you while you’re on the phone with 911 while shots are being fired, it sounds like a very heroic act on her part,” Sgt. Crump. “To have the other female come out later is pretty miraculous.”
