MLB.com to stream Marlins' news conference today - MLB.com

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

The Marlins will hold a news conference at Marlins Park today at 11 a.m. ET, presumably to announce a record-setting contract with slugger Giancarlo Stanton, and MLB.com and marlins.com will provide a live stream.

On Monday, Stanton and the Marlins agreed to terms on a 13-year, $325 million contract. It's the largest contract in baseball history in terms of dollar amount, topping Miguel Cabrera's $292 million extension with the Tigers.

Stanton was drafted and developed by the Marlins out of high school, and he has become the most feared power hitter in baseball. This season, he led the National League in both home runs (37) and slugging percentage (.555) while ranking second in RBIs with 105.
