Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll was arrested Friday in Las Vegas on drug possession charges according to CBS affiliate KLAS-TV. Stoll was arrested at the MGM Wet Republic pool after allegedly being found to be in possession of cocaine and ecstasy.
CBS Los Angeles reports that police have already notified NHL security on the matter.
Stoll helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014. He has been a member of the Kings organization for seven years. He also spent five years with the Edmonton Oilers.
The Kings missed the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time in five years this season.
The 32-year-old Stoll is the second member of the 2014 Stanley Cup champion team to be arrested over the 2014-15 season. Defenseman Slava Voynov was arrested in October on suspicion of domestic violence. He has been on indefinite suspension from the NHL and is currently awaiting trial.
Update: The Los Angeles Kings issued a brief statement regarding Stoll's apparent arrest:
We are aware of police reports out of Clark County, Nevada regarding Jarret Stoll. Our organization is concerned and has begun conducting a thorough internal investigation. While we continue to actively gather facts, we are withholding further comment at this time.
Stoll, who is dating TV personality Erin Andrews, is due to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
